    Chris Hani District Municipality invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Security Guard as part of the Expanded Public Works Program (EPWP).

    Job Title: Security Guards (x300)
    Job Location: Chris Hani District Municipality, South Africa
    Closing Date: 30 June 2026
    Contract: Six-month contract (Multiple locations including Emalahleni, Vuyisile Mini, Sakhisizwe, Dr A.B. Xuma, Enoch Mgijima, Inxuba Yethu)
    Stipend: R5895.00 per month

    This opportunity is open to residents within the district who meet the specified requirements and are eager to contribute to municipal safety and asset protection.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Safeguarding physical, mechanical, electronic, and other assets across municipal buildings, water service sites, reservoirs, sewerage pumps, dams, and revenue centers.
    • Recording incoming and outgoing equipment/assets in inventory registers.
    • Updating occurrence logs and documenting routine activities and incidents.

    • Controlling access and egress of personnel and visitors.
    • Conducting vehicle searches upon arrival and departure.
    • Communicating effectively with the public, managing queues, and directing visitors.

    • Monitoring risks and threats against employees, councilors, delegations, and municipal property.
    • Securing entry and exit of persons in municipal facilities.
    • Ensuring security protocols are followed to maintain safety and order.

    Requirements

    • Grade 9 qualification.
    • Security Guard Qualification/Certificate (Grade D) recognized by the Security Industry Authority.
    • Valid PSIRA Certificate.
    • Police Clearance Certificate.
    • Proof of medical fitness from a registered medical practitioner.
    • 12-18 months relevant experience in security, police, or military service.

    • A comprehensive CV.
    • Certified copies of qualifications.
