Overview
The Technical Account Manager (TAM) Leader at Supabase is responsible for managing the health, direction, and performance of the Technical Account Management function. This role combines leadership with hands-on involvement, ensuring that each account receives quality technical support through a proactive and relationship-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Hire, coach, and develop the TAM team.
- Oversee portfolio and coverage ownership, managing assignments for named and partner-mapped accounts.
- Ensure each assigned account has a clear technical owner and monitor documentation and architecture quality.
- Audit onboarding processes and coach TAMs on best practices.
- Manage escalations and coordinate efforts during major incidents.
- Align account plans with customer roadmaps and engage in planning for strategic accounts.
- Represent customer patterns to engineering and product teams to drive improvements.
Requirements
- Experience as a Technical Account Manager and in leading a technical customer-facing team.
- Strong technical depth in database internals, scalability, and security.
- Proven ability in people leadership, providing direct feedback, and developing team members.
- Ability to analyze portfolio-level judgment across numerous accounts.
- Comfortable managing high-severity incidents and cross-functional influence.
- Excellent communication skills for briefing executives and coaching team members.
