    Overview

    The Center for Economic and Social Rights (CESR) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Officer with a strong commitment to social justice and a strategic mindset to develop and execute their communication strategy globally.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development, implementation, and refinement of CESR’s communications strategy.
    • Produce and oversee a variety of communication outputs, including news releases, reports, policy briefings, factsheets, blog posts, and audiovisual materials.
    • Manage and update CESR’s website and enhance their online presence through engaging social media content.
    • Build relationships with journalists and media outlets to elevate CESR’s voice in public debates.
    • Collaborate with program teams to integrate communications into project planning and support resource mobilization efforts.

    Requirements

    • At least five years of relevant experience in strategic communications within human rights, social justice, or advocacy contexts.
    • Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex research into accessible language.
    • Familiarity with current digital tools, social media trends, and communication channels.
    • Excellent writing, editing, and design skills.
    • A collaborative and inclusive approach.
    • Organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
    • Degree in journalism, communications, or related fields, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Experience working on economic justice, human rights, or social movements is preferred.
    • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design is a plus.
    • Fluency in additional languages, especially Spanish, is preferred.
    • Experience managing websites and digital content management systems is preferred.
    • Familiarity with multimedia content production is preferred.

    Benefits

    Salary Range: USD 37,000 – 60,000 (pro-rated based on hours, experience, and location).
