Position Overview

The role focuses on strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems while ensuring regional conservation teams can confidently generate, interpret, and utilize quality data to guide conservation actions and measure impact.

This is a two-year term position and is open to candidates authorized to work and reside in:

• Kenya
• Tanzania
• Zambia

The position is fully remote, with periodic travel across Africa, including countries such as:

• South Africa
• Angola
• Gabon
• Other regional program locations

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with regional leadership, MEL specialists, scientists, and conservation teams to improve conservation data quality and evidence use.

Supporting Data-Driven Conservation

Core responsibilities include:

• Providing technical guidance on conservation data systems and evidence generation
• Supporting adaptive management processes through robust data practices
• Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks

Building Regional Capacity

• At least four years of relevant professional experience
• Experience with conservation or development metrics and reporting systems
• Strong understanding of impact measurement and results-based management
• Proven experience improving data quality and validation processes
• Experience leading teams and building organizational capacity

Candidates should also demonstrate proficiency with data analysis and visualization platforms, including:
