Overview

Theirworld is seeking a Consultant – Youth-Led Research Specialist for a remote, project-based consultancy focused on designing and implementing a youth-led consultation on peace, security, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a youth-led consultation framework.
• Conduct capacity-building sessions for youth and task team members.
• Oversee data collection and thematic analysis of qualitative data.
• Monitor progress, troubleshoot challenges, and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Ensure youth leadership and meaningful participation throughout the process.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in youth participation and youth-led research methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience leading participatory, qualitative research projects with young people, especially in peacebuilding, conflict, or education contexts.
• Strong facilitation skills and experience in capacity building.
• Familiarity with safeguarding policies and ethical considerations in youth engagement.
• Experience working with marginalized or vulnerable youth populations.
• Ability to translate research findings into policy or programmatic recommendations.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• (Preferred) Advanced degree in social sciences, peace studies, international development, or related fields.
• (Preferred) Experience in international development or with NGOs on peace and security issues.
• (Preferred) Knowledge of qualitative research tools and data analysis software.
