Transnet has opened applications for its 2026 Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme, offering practical workplace experience to students who have completed the theoretical component of their studies and require in-service training to graduate.

The programme provides participants with an opportunity to gain industry experience within South Africa’s logistics sector while completing the practical requirements of their qualifications.

Opportunities are available in both technical and non-technical disciplines across Johannesburg and Durban.

Programme Purpose

The Transnet Work Integrated Learning Programme is intended for students who have successfully completed all required theoretical coursework and now require structured workplace exposure or in-service training to complete their qualifications.

Successful candidates will gain practical experience in a professional working environment while developing industry-relevant skills.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Be a South African citizen.
Be between 18 and 35 years of age.
Have completed all theoretical subjects in the relevant field of study.
Provide an official in-service training letter from their institution.

Submit a certified copy of their South African ID.
Submit a certified copy of their Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
Provide a complete academic transcript or record.
Have no bursary obligations with another company.

Preference will be given to persons with disabilities (PWD).
