The PhD Researcher position in Sociology at Trinity College Dublin offers an exceptional opportunity for a motivated candidate to undertake advanced doctoral research within a leading academic institution. The role is a full-time, fixed-term contract lasting 48 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive literature reviews
- Designing and implementing research methodologies (qualitative or mixed methods)
- Collecting and analysing data through interviews, surveys, and case studies
- Presenting research at local, national, and international conferences
- Publishing four journal articles based on the PhD research
- Collaborating closely with supervisors and research teams
- Providing approximately four hours of weekly teaching support during term time
Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate strong academic and research capabilities aligned with the programme’s objectives.
Essential qualifications:
- MA, MSc, or MPhil in Sociology, Social Policy, or a related field
Required skills:
- Advanced qualitative research skills
- Knowledge of sociology of welfare or related areas
- Familiarity with case-study research design
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
