    Overview

    The United Nations Institute for Training and Research is offering an exciting Traineeship within its Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP)—a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in the United Nations system while working in a multicultural environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinate logistics before, during, and after training programmes.
    • Liaise with partner institutions and participants.
    • Prepare documentation and training materials.
    • Manage content on UNITAR’s e-learning platform.
    • Support communication and outreach efforts.
    • Assist in facilitating online sessions and webinars.
    • Accompany participants during field visits in Geneva.

    Requirements

    • Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in International Relations, Political Science, Law, Education, History, Languages, or related fields.
    • Start the traineeship within 2 years of graduation.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Experience in event planning or coordination.
    • Familiarity with online training or e-learning platforms.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Knowledge of the UN system and international affairs.
    • Fluent in English; knowledge of French and/or Mandarin Chinese is an asset.

    Benefits

    Although the traineeship is unpaid, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of 900 CHF to support transportation and miscellaneous expenses.
