The United Nations System Staff College is accepting applications for two Associate Digital Learning Officer positions based in Turin, Italy. The roles are offered at the P2 level within the Digital Learning Services Unit of UNSSC’s Integrated Business Centre.
Under vacancy number VA/UNSSC/007/2026, the selected candidates will support the design, administration and continuous development of UNSSC’s digital learning ecosystem. The Blue Line is designed as a global platform for personalised and self-directed learning. The Digital Learning Services Unit also oversees the administration and continued development of UNSSC’s Learning Management System.
UNSSC treats technical platform administration, content management and learning-experience design as closely connected areas. The Associate Digital Learning Officers will therefore work across all three areas rather than focusing exclusively on technical support or course design.

They will help UNSSC maintain a coherent, high-quality and continuously improving digital learning offer for United Nations personnel and partner organisations.
Both officers will report directly to the Team Lead of the Integrated Business Centre’s Digital Learning Services Unit.
A significant part of the role involves the administration and development of UNSSC’s Learning Management System.
The selected candidates will support daily LMS operations, including:
They will also provide technical assistance through the LMS Service Desk. This includes responding to user requests, resolving problems within agreed service timelines and maintaining support materials such as:
The officers will advise clients on how to structure and configure courses within the LMS. This guidance may cover content organisation, assessment design, learner pathways and the use of platform functions to improve learning effectiveness.
The successful candidates will contribute to the development and testing of new LMS features and system improvements.

The officers will also support UNSSC’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System as it relates to LMS operations.
This may involve documenting service processes, maintaining operational controls, recording non-conformities, preparing for internal audits and monitoring indicators related to service quality and customer satisfaction.
The officers will help coordinate the Blue Line content portfolio and maintain its content-architecture framework.

They will coordinate with UNSSC programme teams, external contributors and subject-matter experts throughout the full content lifecycle.
This process may begin with the initial content concept and continue through development, instructional review, publication, monitoring and eventual revision.

The selected officers will contribute to the development of Blue Line learning materials and advise internal and external content creators on issues such as:
They will help ensure that content meets UNSSC standards regardless of whether it was developed internally or submitted by another United Nations entity or partner organisation.
The officers will also act as an operational link between Digital Learning Services and the Learning and Knowledge Services department. This will involve coordinating planning activities, shared content-review cycles and cross-functional development initiatives.
The officers will conduct periodic quality reviews of Blue Line courses, learning pathways and related platform activities.

Where problems are identified, the officers will coordinate the necessary corrections.
They will also help map user touchpoints across the learner journey and identify areas where participants experience confusion, delay or unnecessary difficulty.
The selected candidates will help organise Blue Line Live events.
Their responsibilities may include:
Live events should complement the platform’s self-directed learning resources rather than operate as disconnected activities.
The officers will also support the development of a community-of-practice model for Blue Line. They may assist existing United Nations communities and onboard new ones by providing orientation, facilitation guidance and resources that help maintain participation and generate useful content.

The officers will monitor information such as:
They will help prepare interview guides, surveys and other research instruments. Findings from user research and monitoring will then be translated into practical recommendations, technical requirements or service improvements.
The officers will be expected to ensure that user feedback is systematically incorporated into improvement cycles across both the LMS and Blue Line.

A first-level university degree may be accepted instead of an advanced degree where the applicant has an appropriate combination of academic qualifications and relevant professional experience.
Applicants must have at least two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas:
Candidates must demonstrate experience in course design and development, including writing learning objectives, structuring content and designing assessments.
They must also have experience advising content authors, course administrators or subject-matter experts on course setup, learner pathways and engagement strategies within an LMS environment.
