💼 Role Overview

The Nurse will support emergency health interventions within the Cholera Treatment Unit (CTU) by delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring proper triage, treatment support, infection prevention, and accurate reporting in line with national and MdM protocols.

🩺 Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Triage

Receive and triage patients based on dehydration severity
Monitor vital signs and clinical status
Support doctors in managing cholera cases

2. Clinical & Nursing Duties

Administer ORS and assist with IV fluids
Perform injections, wound care, and rapid diagnostic tests
Ensure proper sterilization and safe waste disposal

3. Infection Prevention & Control (IPC)

Enforce hygiene protocols (PPE, handwashing, disinfection)
Maintain patient isolation and safe clinical environment

4. Health Education

Educate patients and caregivers on:
- Cholera prevention
- Hygiene practices
- Early treatment and danger signs

5. Data & Reporting

Record patient data accurately
Support daily and weekly reporting
Report unusual trends or outbreaks

6. Operations & Coordination

Support CTU setup and inventory management
Participate in team meetings and trainings
Collaborate with stakeholders and health partners

✅ Requirements

Education

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Additional health certifications (advantage)

Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in humanitarian or emergency response settings
Experience managing teams

Skills

Strong communication and reporting skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
Ability to work under pressure in emergency environments

Other Requirements

Fluency in English (local language is a plus)
Flexible and culturally sensitive

💰 Salary

₦500,000 – ₦750,000 monthly
