    Overview

    World Vision International is seeking a United Nations Policy Advocacy and External Engagement Intern for a three-month immersive experience in the international development and humanitarian policy sector. The intern will support the United Nations Policy and Advocacy Team, engaging with key UN bodies to advance child-focused policies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Track schedules and proceedings of UN bodies.
    • Monitor developments within assigned advocacy portfolios.
    • Provide timely updates and synthesized briefings.
    • Draft internal briefings and position papers.
    • Support preparation of advocacy materials for external engagement.
    • Assist in producing documentation for working groups and partner organizations.
    • Contribute to planning and coordination activities for the 2026 UN General Assembly session.
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings and side events.
    • Assist with preparation for high-level engagements.
    • Support participation in meetings with NGOs and UN agencies.
    • Maintain professional communication with peer organizations.
    • Strengthen collaborative advocacy initiatives.

    Requirements

    Academic Background: Preferred fields of study include Social Sciences, International Affairs, Journalism, Communications, or related disciplines. Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students, or recent graduates within the past two years.

    Core Competencies: Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, strong research and analytical skills, excellent written communication abilities, high attention to detail, effective organizational and time management skills, adaptability, and commitment to World Vision’s mission and values.

    Eligibility Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, possess a valid U.S. Social Security Number, commit to at least 24 hours per week, use personal electronic devices, and adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith. Local applicants only will be considered.

    Benefits

    Stipend of $800 per month (for U.S.-based interns). Interns benefit from exposure to multilateral diplomacy, weekly professional development sessions, collaboration with a nationwide intern cohort, hands-on experience in global humanitarian advocacy, and strengthened leadership and analytical competencies.
