PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship 2026: Empowering the Next Generation of Ethical Communicators

PRNigeria, Nigeria’s leading privately owned news agency, has officially announced the third edition of its highly impactful Young Communication Fellowship (YCF) 2026. This fully funded, intensive two-week programme is designed to equip aspiring journalists, public relations professionals, and digital communicators with cutting-edge skills required to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

With the theme “Ethical Communication in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” the fellowship reflects the growing importance of truth, transparency, and accountability in an era increasingly shaped by AI-driven content and digital information flows. The programme aims to nurture a new generation of media professionals who can responsibly navigate misinformation, disinformation, and emerging technological challenges.

The fellowship will be hosted across PRNigeria’s training centres in Abuja and Ilorin, with sessions scheduled for August, September, and October 2026. Selected participants will benefit from immersive, hands-on training facilitated by seasoned media experts, communication strategists, and industry leaders.

Throughout the programme, fellows will gain practical knowledge in key areas such as news writing and reporting, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), digital verification techniques, artificial intelligence in media, disinformation detection, and crisis communication. Additional focus will be placed on multimedia storytelling, media law, Freedom of Information (FOI), and professional fact-checking methodologies.

Beyond technical skills, the fellowship offers significant career development opportunities. Participants will build a verified digital portfolio, receive a co-endorsed certificate of completion, and benefit from one-on-one mentorship sessions with experienced professionals. The programme also includes institutional field visits and induction into the prestigious PRNigeria YCF Alumni Network, providing long-term professional support and networking opportunities.

The fellowship is open to Nigerian citizens between the ages of 20 and 30 who hold a degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any discipline. Notably, prior experience in media or communication is not required, making it an inclusive opportunity for passionate young individuals eager to explore and build careers in the communication sector.
