Overview
The Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF) is hiring a Development Associate to support its fundraising and resource mobilization efforts. This full-time, remote role is for early-career professionals passionate about climate justice, youth leadership, and equitable philanthropy.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft grant proposals, donor reports, and concept notes
- Support budget tracking and basic financial reporting
- Maintain reporting templates and grant documentation
- Track grant deadlines and submission schedules
- Research prospective funders aligned with YCJF’s mission
- Prepare funder briefs and engagement summaries
- Maintain fundraising pipelines and prospect trackers
- Organize development files across internal systems
- Track donor communications and engagement histories
- Maintain accurate donor contact records
- Support donor meetings, convenings, and events
- Prepare agendas, background materials, and follow-up notes
- Track attendance, outcomes, and next steps
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, or research
- Strong written communication skills in English
- Excellent organizational and research skills
- Comfort with Google Workspace and spreadsheets
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote, global team
- Commitment to climate justice, youth leadership, and equity
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com (Desirable)
- Lived experience or connection to frontline communities (Desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills (Desirable)
Benefits
- Salary: USD $40,000 per year
- One-year consultancy (renewable subject to funding)
- Full-time (35 hours per week)
