    The Education for Climate Coalition has officially launched its 2026 call for Youth Coordinators, inviting motivated young people to take on a leadership role within the Coalition’s Youth Group. This volunteer opportunity is designed for individuals passionate about sustainability, education, youth engagement, and community mobilisation. The call aims to strengthen youth-led participation across the platform by selecting up to six new Youth Coordinators who will help guide, energise, and support the Youth Group.

    About the Youth Coordinator Role

    Youth Coordinators play a central role in shaping the Youth Group’s activities, engagement, and community culture. They serve as ambassadors of the Education for Climate Coalition, helping young members navigate the platform, participate in initiatives, and stay informed about ongoing opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities of Youth Coordinators

    Youth Coordinators will:

    • Welcome new members into the Youth Group and ensure they know where to find essential information, ongoing activities, and community resources.
    • Support the Secretariat by helping maintain community etiquette and encouraging positive peer-to-peer exchanges.
    • Keep members informed about key messages, outcomes, follow-up actions, and updates related to meetings, challenges, discussions, and upcoming events.
    • Participate in community events, including cafés and leadership meetings, on a rotational basis.

    Main Youth Coordinator Responsibilities

    One selected coordinator will serve as the Main Youth Coordinator, taking on additional leadership duties to support coordination between the Secretariat and the Youth Group. Their responsibilities include:

    • Ensuring participation of at least one Youth Coordinator in community events whenever possible.
    • Engaging the Youth Group in relevant activities such as:
      • Promoting the Youth Climate LAB
      • Organising internal Youth Group meetings
      • Leading short activities related to sustainability education

    What the Coalition Is Looking For

    The Education for Climate Community aims to build a diverse, dynamic team of Youth Coordinators. Selection will be based on:

    1. Proficiency in English

    As the main language used in community events and Youth Group interactions.

    2. Professional Role

    A balanced mix of:

    • Students
    • Young professionals
    • Individuals from diverse institutions and educational backgrounds

    3. Age Requirement

    Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old.

    4. Expertise & Social Media Presence

    Candidates will be evaluated on:

    • Their engagement in sustainability and education initiatives
    • Their links to educational institutions
    • Their online presence and ability to mobilise youth

    5. Membership Requirement

    Applicants must already be members of the Education for Climate platform.

    6. Motivation & Proposed Activity

    Applicants must demonstrate:

    • Strong motivation for the role
    • Interest in community mobilisation
    • Experience in organising events or facilitating discussions
    • A proposed activity aligned with the Coalition’s focus areas
