The 3rd Global MAB Youth Forum, themed “Committed to the Future We Want,” will convene up to 200 young leaders connected to Biosphere Reserves worldwide. It aims to strengthen youth engagement in UNESCO’s Man and Biosphere (MAB) Programme, focusing on biodiversity conservation, sustainable development, and climate action.
The forum is open to young people aged 18–35 who are actively engaged in or connected to UNESCO Biosphere Reserves. This includes residents of Biosphere Reserves, researchers, students, volunteers, professionals, and individuals supporting Biosphere Reserve initiatives. There are two application pathways: National MAB Youth Focal Points and a competitive open call for MAB Youth Participants.
Food and accommodation during the Forum will be covered by the organizers. Limited travel support may be available, subject to funding availability and eligibility criteria. Participants are encouraged to indicate if they have secured independent travel funding.
Applicants must submit an online Expression of Interest form and supporting documentation. National MAB Youth Focal Points need to provide official confirmation. Open Call participants must submit a CV, description of relevant experience, statement of contributions, post-Forum implementation plan, and a letter of endorsement. Further details can be found on the official website.
