Overview

The African Design Centre (ADC) at MASS offers a fully immersive 12-month residency programme in Kigali, Rwanda for emerging African architects and designers. This fellowship equips participants with tools, mentorship, and practical experience to lead transformative, community-driven design work.

Eligibility

Nationals of an African country
35 years old or younger
Hold a degree in architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, engineering, or a related field
Willing to relocate to Kigali, Rwanda from October 2026 to September 2027

How to Apply

The selection process consists of three stages:

Stage 1: Expression of Interest
Submit resume, portfolio, references, and a statement of alignment.
Stage 2: Pre-Fellowship Essays
Shortlisted candidates will submit essays and confirm residency availability.
Stage 3: Interviews
Successful applicants will participate in interviews as part of the final selection process.
