    Overview

    The Environmental and Economic Resource Centre (EERC) is offering its 2026 Fellowship Cohort III, a fully funded three-month residential research fellowship for early-career researchers affiliated with Nigerian institutions. The fellowship aims to strengthen evidence-based policymaking in Nigeria’s agri-food and environmental sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct policy-relevant research aligned with EERC's thematic areas.
    • Utilize regional or national secondary datasets, or submit primary datasets.
    • Collaborate with senior academics and EERC researchers.
    • Contribute to sustainable agricultural and environmental governance.

    Requirements

    • Master’s or PhD degree awarded within the past five years.
    • Currently affiliated with a Nigerian university or research institution.
    • Proficiency in statistical or econometric software (e.g., R).
    • Training in disciplines such as Agricultural Economics, Agroecology, Environmental Science, Development Economics, or related fields.
    • Ability to develop proposals covering at least two thematic areas: Land-Use Systems and Governance, Climate Change and Biodiversity, Gender and Social Inclusion, or Water–Energy–Food Nexus.
    • Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
