    NEAT Microcredit, one of Nigeria’s fastest-growing ethical microfinance institutions, is recruiting experienced professionals for the role of Area Manager across multiple locations.

    Job Summary

    The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance, growth, and profitability of multiple branches within an assigned region.

    This role requires a strong leader with deep expertise in microfinance operations, retail lending, portfolio management, and team leadership, capable of driving aggressive growth while maintaining excellent portfolio quality and compliance.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Growth

    • Drive loan disbursement, customer acquisition, and portfolio expansion
    • Promote digital adoption and achieve regional growth targets

    Portfolio & Risk Management

    • Ensure high-quality loan portfolios through effective risk management
    • Oversee collections, recovery, and compliance with lending policies

    Leadership & People Development

    • Lead, coach, and develop Branch Managers and teams
    • Build high-performing and results-driven teams

    Operations & Compliance

    • Ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance
    • Strengthen internal controls and branch performance

    Customer & Stakeholder Management

    • Enhance customer experience and retention
    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in any discipline
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
    • Experience supervising multiple branches (preferably in microfinance)
    • Strong knowledge of:
      • Retail & Microfinance Lending
      • Credit Risk Management
      • Portfolio Management
      • Collections & Recovery
      • Branch Operations & Compliance

    Key Skills

    • Leadership and team management
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Communication and negotiation skills
    • Stakeholder management
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and core banking applications

    Preferred Profile

    • Experience in reputable microfinance institutions in Nigeria
    • Proven ability to:
      • Manage portfolios of ₦500 million+
      • Maintain Portfolio at Risk (PAR) < 5%
      • Exceed business and recovery targets
      • Build and lead high-performing teams
