Bombela Operating Company (PTY) LTD is seeking a highly skilled Procurement & Contracts Manager to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will oversee the entire tender process, procurement activities, fleet and stock management, ensuring compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.
This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills to optimize procurement efficiency and support organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Tender and Procurement Management
- Manage the prequalification tender process from initiation to award
- Collaborate with maintenance and management teams on tender documents
- Ensure transparency and good governance in all procurement activities
- Coordinate tender evaluations and award processes
- Draft, review, and finalize purchase contracts in line with tender terms
- Liaise with finance for supplier payments and contract compliance
- Monitor supplier performance and manage contractual relationships
Regulatory and Reporting Compliance
- Ensure compliance with SED requirements and contractual obligations
- Collate and prepare reports for SED reporting purposes
- Manage subcontractor SED reporting in accordance with Operating Contract Schedule 22
- Maintain up-to-date Stock and Uniform policies
Fleet and Stock Management
- Oversee fleet control activities and ensure vehicle readiness
- Advise on fleet strategy (Lease vs. Buy) and insurance coverage
- Prepare budgets for stock and fleet units and monitor expenditures
- Control sourcing and procurement of uniforms, consumables, branding items, and large-quantity goods
Leadership and Operational Excellence
- Provide guidance and mentorship to procurement staff
- Conduct periodic reviews of procurement processes for continuous improvement
- Develop plans to optimize resource utilization and profitability
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with organizational policies
- Coordinate with HR and finance teams on monthly reporting and performance metrics
Candidate Profile
Educational & Professional Qualifications
- BCom in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years managerial experience in procurement or supply chain roles
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Project Management and Change Management expertise
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and listening abilities
- Proficiency in MS Excel (Intermediate) and PowerPoint (Advanced)
- Valid Code B driver’s license with driving experience
