Job Summary

The Centre for Research on Energy and Clean Air (CREA) seeks an Insights Analyst to join its newly established unit focused on producing responsive insights and analysis in the clean energy sector.

The role involves transforming complex research into compelling narratives, engaging with policymakers, media, and international stakeholders, and supporting strategic communications on energy markets, air quality, and climate policy.

The position offers a flexible remote working environment, international travel opportunities, and the chance to influence global energy and environmental policies.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Analysis Development

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify emerging research opportunities and analytical needs.
• Develop research concepts and briefs in partnership with analysts and data scientists.
• Translate technical findings into clear, accessible narratives.
• Highlight key insights and policy implications from analytical outputs.

Communication & Reporting

• Lead preparation of analytical briefs, reports, commentaries, and media notes.
• Produce visual materials such as charts and graphics to enhance communication.
• Ensure outputs align with CREA’s strategic objectives, maintaining high standards of accuracy and credibility.
• Stay updated on developments in energy, climate, and air quality policies.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Work with partner organizations to incorporate regional and technical expertise.
• Support media engagement and develop relationships with international journalists.
• Contribute to rapid response systems for emerging energy and air quality issues.

Qualifications

Essential

• 3–5 years of experience in research, policy analysis, journalism, consulting, or related fields.
• Higher education or equivalent professional experience in energy, environmental science, economics, or related disciplines.
• Excellent English writing and editing skills.

• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and technical reports.
• Knowledge of energy markets, fossil fuels, clean energy, or air quality.
• Experience engaging with media, policymakers, or international organizations.

• Proven ability to produce high-quality reports and policy briefs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with international, multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable

• Experience working with data analysts or technical researchers.
• Skills in data visualization and working with designers.
• Experience across diverse cultural and political contexts.
