Key Responsibilities

• Own Gusto’s VC & PE partnership strategy end to end, accountable for results across the function.
• Define and maintain a clear partner portfolio for targeted engagement.
• Build repeatable, programmatic partnership motions, including education programs and integrations.
• Serve as the Tier 1 point of contact for high-impact ecosystem partners.
• Collaborate with Partner Marketing and Events to design scalable programs.
• Partner with internal teams to align on new partner sourcing over time.
• Track ecosystem impact across various metrics.
• Represent Gusto externally in the VC & PE ecosystem and provide thought leadership.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in partnerships or ecosystem development.
• 4+ years of experience with the VC and PE ecosystem.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional partnership initiatives.
• Strong judgment in managing time and investments.
• Comfort working cross-functionally and influencing without direct authority.
• Ability to translate ambiguous inputs into clear strategies.
• Experience working closely with VC or PE firms or high-growth companies.
• Background in program design and evaluating partnership impact.

Benefits

Competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) are provided to all full-time employees. The cash compensation for this role ranges from $185,000 to $200,000 USD for certain metro areas, and $215,000 to $235,000 USD for San Francisco and New York; $170,000 to $190,000 CAD for Toronto.

Location

Remote, with physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees in those locations may be expected to work in the office 2-3 days per week.
