Overview
The Climate Finance Policy Associate position is a full-time remote role offered by The Nature Conservancy to support the organization’s Policy and Public Funding (PPF) programme, focusing on innovative climate and nature finance solutions across Africa and Latin America.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating programme activities across different countries and partners
- Producing analytical outputs on climate and nature finance
- Supporting government engagement and policy development processes
- Contributing to capacity building and knowledge sharing initiatives
- Ensuring quality assurance across deliverables and workstreams
- Tracking project progress against timelines and workplans
- Coordinating inputs from internal teams and external consultants
- Preparing materials for high-level meetings with governments and donors
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external requirements
- Maintaining effective communication across multiple workstreams
- Developing briefings and policy notes on sustainable finance pathways
- Analysing innovative debt instruments and fiscal policy approaches
- Synthesising insights from pilot programmes across Africa and Latin America
- Supporting integration of climate considerations into economic planning
- Translating complex research into accessible policy materials
- Supporting design and delivery of peer-learning exchanges
- Preparing agendas, briefing documents, and post-event summaries
- Developing accessible knowledge products for policy audiences
- Contributing to internal learning systems and documentation
- Supporting workshops and convenings across regions
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
- At least 3 years of relevant professional experience
- Fluency in English plus Spanish or Portuguese
- Experience in policy, analytical, or programme coordination roles
- Familiarity with government or multilateral engagement
- Experience synthesizing research into structured outputs
- Experience working across international, national, or subnational policy levels (preferred)
- Exposure to climate finance or public finance systems (preferred)
- Strong communication and writing skills for policy audiences (preferred)
