Overview

The Climate Investment Associate Principal will provide specialized analytical, coordination and operational support to the Director of the Africa Region and sub-regional heads within the Department of the Africa Region (DAFR) at the Green Climate Fund (GCF).

Key Responsibilities

Support engagement efforts related to GCF programming and replenishment cycles.
Leverage high-level platforms such as the Africa Union Summit and Africa Climate Summit.
Mobilize additional climate finance resources and strengthen strategic alignment.
Coordinate high-level engagement with the African Union (AU) and Regional Economic Communities (RECs).
Advance Africa Department strategy and project pipeline development.
Support implementation of the Africa Department Programming Strategy.
Draft and finalize high-quality briefing notes, speeches, and presentations.
Conduct analysis on departmental performance and project impact metrics.

Requirements

Master’s degree in climate change science, political science, law, or related fields.
Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience.
Strong knowledge of Africa’s political, economic and institutional context.
Exceptional analytical, drafting and diplomatic skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
