    Role Overview

    Aguaconsult seeks a highly experienced Climate Specialist to expand its global climate portfolio.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic projects at international, regional, and country levels. Key responsibilities include:

    Core Responsibilities

    • Support climate resilience projects and components across various levels
    • Contribute to knowledge products, reports, position papers, and web-based outputs
    • Engage in business development, including proposal writing and client acquisition

    • Conduct desk research, stakeholder interviews, and field data collection
    • Analyze survey data (quantitative and qualitative)
    • Prepare workshop and webinar materials, and present findings

    • Ensure quality control of project outputs
    • Represent Aguaconsult in external conferences and meetings
    • Mentor junior staff on assigned projects

    Additional Contributions

    • Collaborate on projects beyond climate, as needed
    • Contribute to organizational growth and sector influence

    Candidate Profile and Requirements

    Essential Skills & Experience

    • Master’s degree in environmental studies, water and sanitation, economics, or related fields
    • Minimum five years of relevant experience in climate policy, finance, or adaptation and mitigation programming
    • Proven experience with multilateral climate funds (GCF, GEF, Adaptation Fund)

    • Background in climate finance, water resource management, or agriculture sectors
    • Experience in proposal development and funding applications
    • Familiarity with carbon markets and verification standards (Gold Standard, Verra)

    • Knowledge of blended finance instruments (green bonds, results-based financing, guarantees)
    • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
    • Ability to work effectively in diverse, international teams
    • Willingness to travel up to eight weeks annually

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working across Latin America, Africa, or Asia
    • Fluency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese
    • Established professional network in the climate and water sectors
    • Right to work in the UK or willingness to obtain sponsorship

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Salary range for UK-based candidates: D.1-D.7 (£38,787 – £48,370)
    • Competitive salary for international candidates, tailored based on experience and location
    • Annual profit-share bonus (~£3,600) after 12 months
    • 28 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays
