    Greenpeace International Seeks Co-Head of Climate & Energy to Lead Global Campaigns

    Overview

    Greenpeace International (GPI) is recruiting a Co-Head of Climate & Energy to play a vital leadership role within its International Programme Department.

    This permanent, full-time position offers an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent role, depending on local terms.

    The successful candidate may be based in one of several specified global locations, with relocation considered on a case-by-case basis.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Co-create and drive a strategic portfolio of high-impact Climate & Energy campaigns, aligned with the Global Programme Plan.
    • Lead the design and implementation of impactful, people-powered campaigns to address critical climate issues, including fossil fuel industry accountability, energy transition, and plastic reduction.
    • Support and collaborate with Greenpeace National and Regional Organisations (NROs), strengthening global movement impact.

    • Foster partnerships with allies, funders, and influential stakeholders to amplify campaign effectiveness.
    • Facilitate NRO-NRO collaboration, especially in the Global South, to maximize campaign impact.
    • Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of Programme Managers, Engagement Support Managers, and Campaign Operations Managers.
    • Oversee budgeting, resource management, and expenditure to ensure maximum impact.

    Candidate Profile

    • Extensive experience in senior strategic campaign and engagement roles, including leading international teams.
    • Deep understanding of Climate & Energy issues and successful delivery of impactful campaigns.
    • Proven track record in designing and executing large-scale public and supporter engagement strategies.

    • Strong strategic thinking, systemic approach, and experience working in multicultural environments, particularly in the Global South.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills, with experience in digital, fundraising, and data-informed campaigns.
    • Financial management skills with experience managing complex budgets.
    • Commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion principles.
