Carbon Market Watch seeks a highly motivated and experienced Communications Director to lead its communication efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the organization’s overarching strategy, providing advice on communications perspective.
- Lead the creation of a comprehensive organizational communications strategy.
- Develop specific campaign strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with policy teams to ensure effective communication of research and advocacy outputs.
- Edit and ensure high-quality publications, serving as the primary editor within the communications team.
- Develop compelling narratives and content for various platforms.
- Manage the production of the monthly newsletter and liaise with journalists.
- Conduct media monitoring and analyze coverage for internal reporting.
- Oversee website content updates and provide communications support for public events.
- Conduct regular team meetings and manage the deployment of the communications team.
- Line-manage communication officers and interns, providing mentorship.
- Stay informed on relevant climate and energy policy news.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight years of experience in communications or public relations.
- Proven team management experience with strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills, native-level English preferred.
- Experience working with media outlets and journalists.
- Expertise in website management and social media strategy.
- Understanding of EU and international climate policies.
- Specific knowledge of carbon markets and carbon pricing is highly desirable.
