Key Responsibilities

• Tune and optimize detection models and thresholds against live transaction data.
• Investigate detection performance and make adjustments based on analysis of missed cases and alert quality.
• Translate technical findings into customer-facing insights about investigator productivity and detection improvements.
• Present findings to customers and defend methodologies to their teams.
• Collaborate with regional Customer Value Partners on account strategy and model adaptations.
• Feed findings back into Hawk's broader model and product functions.
• Document tuning decisions to ensure regulatory defensibility.
• Validate model changes through backtesting and thorough review processes.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience as a data scientist in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in AML, fraud detection, or financial crime analytics.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, and relevant ML tools.
• Comfortable engaging with risk, compliance, or data science stakeholders.
• Ability to translate model performance into actionable business value.
• Comfort with ambiguity and real-time production systems.
• An ownership mentality towards account performance.
