Overview
The DevOps Engineer is a senior-level role at NICE, situated at the intersection of operational reliability and software delivery automation. This position involves working within a cross-functional engineering team to ensure healthy and performant production environments and manage CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as CloudFormation, Ansible, Terraform, Chef, or Puppet.
- Oversee release pipelines, build tools, and source control systems operations.
- Coordinate build and release activities with various stakeholders.
- Monitor infrastructure and application health, responding to anomalies.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, including downtime and performance degradation.
- Maintain operational documentation, metric reports, and provide updates to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2+ years of experience in application/production support, cloud operations, and/or software DevOps engineering.
- Strong proficiency with Linux and Unix environments; experience with Windows Server administration is a plus.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, and/or Perl.
- Familiarity with distributed source control systems, preferably GitHub or BitBucket.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and their core services.
- Knowledge of application server technologies such as Tomcat.
- Understanding of standard application security compliance and best practices.
