Overview

The role of Director of Engineering at NiCE involves owning the technical vision for a portfolio of products, ensuring they are coherent, secure, scalable, and economically viable. This hands-on leadership position combines deep technical authority with enterprise strategy, providing architectural direction and raising engineering standards across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the multi-year target architecture across the entire product suite.
• Establish an architecture strategy for on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, or pure SaaS delivery.
• Drive platform and shared-services strategy to reduce fragmentation across products.
• Help architects translate business and product strategy into technical roadmaps.
• Design abstractions and models for product reliability across various environments.
• Embed security, privacy, and regulatory compliance into architecture by design.
• Establish and run an architecture governance function.
• Lead and mentor a community of architects and senior engineers.
• Build consensus across multiple stakeholders and represent the company's technical vision to customers and partners.

Requirements

• 12+ years in software engineering with senior architecture experience.
• Ownership of architecture for enterprise-grade products in multiple deployment models.
• Expertise in distributed systems, multi-tenancy, data architecture, and major public cloud platforms.
• Strong command of security and resilience engineering.
• Experience in regulated environments, preferably in financial services.
• Proven influencing ability among senior engineers and executives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
