    EU Director

    Job Summary

    The EU Director will lead ECF’s efforts to influence EU climate, environmental, and sustainable development regulation, shaping and executing a comprehensive EU-wide strategy to meet 2030 and 2050 climate objectives. The role involves engaging with EU institutions and stakeholders, managing internal programs, and securing funding.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement EU strategy for climate and sustainability regulation
    • Mobilize EU actors including institutions, Member States, civil society, and businesses
    • Lead internal coordination and program integration
    • Manage external engagement and representation at senior levels
    • Oversee fundraising and resource stewardship

    Requirements

    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including EU/international institutions
    • Proven leadership and team management skills
    • Deep understanding of EU political and institutional landscape
    • Excellent communication skills in English
    • Established network in EU climate policy

    People and Power Senior Associate

    Job Summary

    The Senior Associate will drive citizen mobilization and organization efforts across Europe, supporting movement building and grassroots engagement to counter anti-climate populism. The role includes monitoring trends, facilitating cross-country exchange, and supporting strategic tools and capacity building.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and deliver movement-building strategies
    • Support cross-country coordination and monitoring
    • Serve as a liaison for grassroots and citizen action initiatives
    • Lead community of practice for grassroots work
    • Manage project budgets and support funder reporting

    Requirements

    • At least 5 years’ experience in campaigning, mobilization, or strategic communications
    • Experience in grassroots or volunteer-led movements
    • Strong network skills and understanding of power dynamics
    • Fluent in English; knowledge of climate/social justice issues is a plus
    • Self-motivated and team-oriented

    Senior Human Resources Partner

    Job Summary

    The HR Partner will provide strategic HR support within ECF, working closely with leadership to support talent management, organizational development, and fostering an inclusive workplace. The position is based in The Hague with flexible working arrangements.

    Responsibilities

    • Advise and support managers on HR strategies
    • Manage talent acquisition, onboarding, and development programs
    • Support performance management and organizational change
    • Promote diversity, inclusion, and employee well-being
    • Ensure compliance with policies and regulations

    Requirements

    • Over 10 years’ HR experience, with at least 4 years in an HRBP role
    • Experience supporting and coaching managers in an international setting
    • Strong communication and influencing skills
    • Fluent in English; legal right to work in the Netherlands required
    • Passion for climate issues and organizational culture

    Grants Officer (6 Month Maternity Cover)

    Job Summary

    The Grants Officer will support the Central Eastern Europe program’s grantmaking activities, ensuring compliance, due diligence, and effective grant management across Czechia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Ukraine. This is a fixed-term contract based in Prague with hybrid working.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct due diligence and monitor grants
    • Manage grant requests and payments in FLUXX
    • Support program teams with budget planning and reconciliation
    • Oversee grant reporting and closure
    • Provide administrative support and system training

    Requirements

    • 3-4 years’ experience in grant management or related administrative roles
    • Fluency in English and either Czech or Ukrainian
    • Strong Excel and MS Office skills
    • Experience with budget oversight and compliance
    • Genuine interest in ECF’s mission
