The World Meteorological Organization has announced a home-based consultancy opportunity for a Website Design and Development Consultant to support the enhancement of the World Agrometeorological Information Service (WAMIS) platform and provide technical support for key climate and water management web portals.
The consultancy, listed under reference SSA-2026-SS-SSCD-1, seeks an experienced web development professional to strengthen digital knowledge-sharing platforms that support global efforts in agriculture, drought management, flood resilience, and climate adaptation.

The assignment falls under WMO’s Sectoral Services Department and will be delivered remotely over a period of 11 months, with an estimated workload of 30 consultancy days.
The consultant will primarily focus on transforming the World Agrometeorological Information Service (WAMIS) into a more dynamic and comprehensive online repository for agricultural meteorology knowledge, training materials, operational resources, and technical guidance.
In addition, the consultant will support ongoing maintenance and technical enhancements for two globally recognized WMO initiatives:

WAMIS serves as a global platform for exchanging agrometeorological information and resources among meteorological agencies, agricultural institutions, researchers, and practitioners.
According to WMO, strengthening the platform is a key priority under the Standing Committee on Services for Agriculture (SC-AGR). The upgraded system is expected to support several committee outputs, including:
The assignment also supports the broader objectives of APFM and IDMP, both of which help countries strengthen resilience against floods and droughts through integrated water resource management and climate adaptation strategies.
