    Malteser International, the humanitarian relief agency of the Sovereign Order of Malta, is seeking an experienced and passionate Health Manager to join its team in Northeast Nigeria. The position plays a critical role in Borno, providing vital support. With over 60 years of global humanitarian service across more than 30 countries, Malteser International continues to provide life-saving support to vulnerable populations affected by conflict and disasters.

    🌟 About the Role
    The Health Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of health and nutrition programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies, donor requirements, and national health standards. This role is critical in strengthening integrated interventions across health, nutrition, WASH, food security, and livelihoods to improve outcomes for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host communities in Borno.

    📌 Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and oversee health and nutrition program implementation in line with approved budgets and donor guidelines
    • Conduct needs assessments, manage data collection, and analyze health indicators
    • Ensure timely, accurate reporting for internal and donor use
    • Provide technical guidance on public health interventions and ensure quality assurance
    • Supervise, mentor, and build the capacity of health staff
    • Promote integrated programming across health, nutrition, WASH, and food security
    • Represent the organization in coordination meetings with government, donors, and partners
    • Strengthen community engagement and participation
    • Support compliance, risk management, procurement planning, and project development for Borno projects.

    ✅ Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
    • 5–7 years of experience in health program management
    • Experience in NGO or humanitarian settings is a strong advantage
    • Solid understanding of public health systems and principles
    • Proven leadership and team management experience
    • Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
