Job Overview
ECOLISE, the European Network for Community-Led Initiatives on Climate Change and Sustainability, is seeking a dedicated Funding Fairer Futures Project Lead to drive the implementation of the Funding Fairer Futures (FFF) project.
This role involves strategic coordination, project management, community engagement, and policy advocacy to support grassroots initiatives across Europe committed to climate justice and sustainable development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Project Management and Oversight
- Oversee project implementation, timelines, and deliverables in compliance with grant requirements.
- Support budget planning, financial oversight, and risk management.
- Ensure quality assurance and timely delivery of project activities.
Partnership and Team Coordination
- Act as the main contact for project partners and foster strong collaboration.
- Facilitate team meetings, communication, and ensure team cohesion.
- Support the wider ECOLISE team in project delivery.
Reporting and Monitoring
- Lead narrative and financial reporting, including biannual updates.
- Coordinate inputs from team members and subgrantees.
- Support Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) processes.
Subgranting and Capacity Building
- Support the implementation of participatory subgranting activities, including calls for proposals.
- Oversee the management of up to 120 subgrantees.
- Co-design and facilitate the RCF Community of Practice with national hubs and subgrantees.
Policy Engagement and Campaigns
- Coordinate policy dialogues, advocacy, and campaign activities.
- Amplify community-led initiatives’ contributions to climate and social justice.
- Support strategic policy engagement during key moments like European Day of Sustainable Communities.
RCF Stewardship and Impact Development
- Engage stakeholders to promote the Regenerative Communities Fund.
- Support dissemination of results and long-term development of the fund.
- Explore strategic partnerships and fundraising opportunities.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with EU-funded projects (e.g., DEAR, Horizon) and reporting.
- Strong facilitation skills for participatory, multi-stakeholder processes.
- Experience supporting Communities of Practice or peer-learning networks.
- Knowledge of community-led initiatives, climate justice, regenerative development, and social inclusion.
- Experience managing subgranting or participatory funding programs.
- Collaborative leadership skills with a participatory governance approach.
Contract and Remuneration
- Type: Freelance (invoice-based) or employment (based in Belgium)
- Period: June 2026 – June 2027, with potential renewal
- Location: Remote (Europe), with an option for office in Brussels
- Remuneration: €265 gross/day (55% FTE), approximately 10.03 days/month
- Flexibility: Work schedule adaptable, with periods of increased intensity
