    Overview

    The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) is seeking a Communications Intern for a six-month, full-time position in their Geneva-based Communications team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications within an international organization focused on preventing radicalisation and violent extremism.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the implementation of GCERF’s communications strategy.
    • Collaborate with different units to gather programmatic information.
    • Translate complex technical content into engaging and accessible messaging.
    • Contribute to enhancing organizational visibility and impact.
    • Develop social media content (posts, visuals, infographics, short videos) and website updates.
    • Draft clear and engaging captions aligned with strategic priorities.
    • Assist in producing external and donor-facing materials like country profiles, factsheets, maps, and reports.
    • Collect and edit success stories and impact narratives from quarterly reports.
    • Provide general communications assistance and support cross-team coordination.

    Requirements

    • Master’s degree in International Affairs, International Relations, Development Studies, Business or Public Administration, Peacebuilding or Conflict Transformation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Experience managing social media or websites for an international or non-profit organization.
    • Experience designing, drafting, and disseminating communications materials.
    • Strong understanding of digital engagement strategies.
    • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in Canva and familiarity with WordPress.
    • Demonstrated interest or experience in preventing radicalisation and violent extremism is an asset.
    • Native-level fluency in English (oral and written).
    • French and/or Arabic is desirable.

    Benefits

    • Duration: 6 months
    • Workload: Full-time (40 hours per week)
    • Monthly stipend: CHF 2,000
    • Health insurance contribution: CHF 500 per month

    Location

    Geneva, Switzerland (However, Swiss residency or work eligibility is not required).
