Overview

The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) is seeking a Communications Intern for a six-month, full-time position in their Geneva-based Communications team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications within an international organization focused on preventing radicalisation and violent extremism.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation of GCERF’s communications strategy.
Collaborate with different units to gather programmatic information.
Translate complex technical content into engaging and accessible messaging.
Contribute to enhancing organizational visibility and impact.
Develop social media content (posts, visuals, infographics, short videos) and website updates.
Draft clear and engaging captions aligned with strategic priorities.
Assist in producing external and donor-facing materials like country profiles, factsheets, maps, and reports.
Collect and edit success stories and impact narratives from quarterly reports.
Provide general communications assistance and support cross-team coordination.

Requirements

Master’s degree in International Affairs, International Relations, Development Studies, Business or Public Administration, Peacebuilding or Conflict Transformation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience managing social media or websites for an international or non-profit organization.
Experience designing, drafting, and disseminating communications materials.
Strong understanding of digital engagement strategies.
High attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in Canva and familiarity with WordPress.
Demonstrated interest or experience in preventing radicalisation and violent extremism is an asset.
Native-level fluency in English (oral and written).
French and/or Arabic is desirable.

Benefits

Duration: 6 months
Workload: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Monthly stipend: CHF 2,000
Health insurance contribution: CHF 500 per month

Location

Geneva, Switzerland (However, Swiss residency or work eligibility is not required).
