Overview
The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) is seeking a Communications Intern for a six-month, full-time position in their Geneva-based Communications team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual looking to gain hands-on experience in strategic communications within an international organization focused on preventing radicalisation and violent extremism.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of GCERF’s communications strategy.
- Collaborate with different units to gather programmatic information.
- Translate complex technical content into engaging and accessible messaging.
- Contribute to enhancing organizational visibility and impact.
- Develop social media content (posts, visuals, infographics, short videos) and website updates.
- Draft clear and engaging captions aligned with strategic priorities.
- Assist in producing external and donor-facing materials like country profiles, factsheets, maps, and reports.
- Collect and edit success stories and impact narratives from quarterly reports.
- Provide general communications assistance and support cross-team coordination.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in International Affairs, International Relations, Development Studies, Business or Public Administration, Peacebuilding or Conflict Transformation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience managing social media or websites for an international or non-profit organization.
- Experience designing, drafting, and disseminating communications materials.
- Strong understanding of digital engagement strategies.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Canva and familiarity with WordPress.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in preventing radicalisation and violent extremism is an asset.
- Native-level fluency in English (oral and written).
- French and/or Arabic is desirable.
Benefits
- Duration: 6 months
- Workload: Full-time (40 hours per week)
- Monthly stipend: CHF 2,000
- Health insurance contribution: CHF 500 per month
Location
Geneva, Switzerland (However, Swiss residency or work eligibility is not required).
