About the Role
Global Rights Compliance (GRC) seeks an experienced IT Security Officer to join its international team.
This pivotal role involves overseeing and supporting the organization’s IT security, infrastructure, and digital risk management functions.
The successful candidate will act as the primary contact for all IT security-related matters, collaborating with internal teams, external IT providers, and program units to ensure GRC’s systems, devices, and digital infrastructure remain secure, compliant, and operationally effective.
Key Responsibilities
IT Security & Cybersecurity Support
- Support implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity measures, policies, and controls
- Monitor systems, assist with incident response, vulnerability assessments, and threat management
- Implement and maintain security systems including endpoint protection, encryption, access controls, and multi-factor authentication
- Ensure systems and devices are securely configured, patched, and protected against cyber threats
- Stay updated on emerging cybersecurity risks, technologies, and best practices
Microsoft 365, Azure & Intune Administration
- Manage and support Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra ID, and Microsoft Intune environments
- Configure and maintain endpoint management systems and MDM policies
- Support secure onboarding and offboarding processes
Infrastructure, Systems & Data Protection
- Support secure server, network, cloud storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems
- Document and enforce system standards and security protocols
- Assist with software migration, deployment, and system optimization
- Recommend improvements to enhance security and operational efficiency
Vendor & Third-Party Coordination
- Collaborate with external IT providers on security updates and remediation
- Support third-party IT and cybersecurity risk management processes
- Assist with procurement and management of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity tools
Compliance, Governance & Risk
- Ensure compliance with data protection, cybersecurity, and information governance standards
- Identify and report digital security and privacy risks
- Support audits, donor compliance, and due diligence processes
- Maintain accurate IT documentation and access records
Team Support & Capacity Building
- Deliver cybersecurity awareness training and promote secure digital practices
- Collaborate with internal IT teams to implement security standards across all offices and programs
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, computer science, or related field
- Minimum of 6.5 years’ experience in IT management
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of industry-standard hardware and software systems
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, cloud storage, and management platforms (e.g., Huridocs’ Uwazi) is an asset
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
