Overview
The Harper Fellowship at The 19th is a year-long, salaried opportunity for emerging journalists to develop their careers in reporting, audience engagement, news product development, and nonprofit media leadership. Named after Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, it aims to create opportunities for graduates and alumni of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in nonprofit journalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to meaningful journalism projects within editorial, product, audience engagement, and development teams.
- Gain hands-on newsroom experience.
- Specialize in one of the following tracks: Reporting, Audience Engagement, News Product, or Development.
Requirements
- Emerging journalists interested in developing their careers.
