Head of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) @Blockchain

Overview

Blockchain is seeking a Head of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead the development and execution of the infrastructure reliability strategy for its growing operations. This role involves shaping the infrastructure vision at a rapidly expanding crypto financial services company.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish a multi-year platform and reliability strategy, defining the SRE roadmap and driving engineering standards.
• Enable business delivery of products while maintaining standards compliance and security through well-designed self-service tooling.
• Lead and mentor a global team of senior SREs, developing technical leaders through effective coaching and hiring practices.
• Architect and manage a secure hybrid infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and on-premise data centers.
• Own incident response and root-cause analysis, ensuring targets for MTTD/MTTR are met.
• Govern cloud architecture, infrastructure as code (IaC), networking, and cost management to enhance automated workflows.
• Build relationships across departments to understand requirements and deliver services while maintaining regulatory standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading senior SRE teams in 24/7 financial environments.
• Deep expertise in GCP and AWS networking with hands-on experience in Kubernetes, Nomad, and Terraform.
• Solid background in bare-metal hardware, data center networking, and implementing Cloudflare Zero Trust architectures.
• Strong software engineering experience with a deep understanding of distributed systems and observability.
• Ability to prioritize reliability, security, and developer productivity in complex environments.
