Overview
INTERSOS is seeking a highly experienced Humanitarian Access and Safety & Security Advisor to support its global operations, ensuring safe access and managing security risks across various missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor operational environments for threats and vulnerabilities.
- Support crisis analysis and scenario planning for strategic decision-making.
- Produce analytical papers and contribute to high-level strategy.
- Develop strategies to improve access in complex environments.
- Create and promote internal guidelines, tools, and context-specific approaches.
- Advise on principled access negotiations with authorities and armed groups.
- Lead risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
- Support incident notification and analysis during crises.
- Extend security and access capacity to local partners.
- Conduct training on humanitarian principles and access negotiations.
Requirements
- Advanced university degree (Master's level) or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 7 years in international humanitarian assistance.
- Deep knowledge of International Humanitarian Law, security risk management, and conflict sensitivity.
- Strong training, mentoring, and capacity-building skills.
- Fluent in English and French (mandatory).
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to diverse environments.
- Willingness to travel frequently, including to fragile or conflict-affected areas.
Benefits
- Salary: €3,690 - €4,245 gross monthly.
- Contract: 12 months, starting 01/07/2026.
Location
Global (Headquarters, home-based, with field visits).
