Overview

INTERSOS is seeking a highly experienced Humanitarian Access and Safety & Security Advisor to support its global operations, ensuring safe access and managing security risks across various missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor operational environments for threats and vulnerabilities.
• Support crisis analysis and scenario planning for strategic decision-making.
• Produce analytical papers and contribute to high-level strategy.
• Develop strategies to improve access in complex environments.
• Create and promote internal guidelines, tools, and context-specific approaches.
• Advise on principled access negotiations with authorities and armed groups.
• Lead risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies.
• Support incident notification and analysis during crises.
• Extend security and access capacity to local partners.
• Conduct training on humanitarian principles and access negotiations.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree (Master's level) or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 7 years in international humanitarian assistance.
• Deep knowledge of International Humanitarian Law, security risk management, and conflict sensitivity.
• Strong training, mentoring, and capacity-building skills.
• Fluent in English and French (mandatory).
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to diverse environments.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including to fragile or conflict-affected areas.

Benefits

• Salary: €3,690 - €4,245 gross monthly.
• Contract: 12 months, starting 01/07/2026.

Location

Global (Headquarters, home-based, with field visits).
