Intermediate Fullstack Engineer - Data Products @GitLab

Overview

The role involves contributing to Data Products at GitLab, which integrates software development lifecycle data to build dashboards, APIs, and data products. This position focuses on frontend and backend contributions and encompasses a hands-on product engineering approach.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop features for data ingestion, modeling, and synchronization for GitLab and third-party data.
• Build integrations with external systems for business context, ensuring data completeness.
• Create features for Software Engineering Intelligence dashboards that report on various software development metrics.
• Participate in design discussions and contribute to technical direction with guidance from Senior Engineers.
• Identify blockers and work with the team to ensure project milestones are met.
• Engage in design and code reviews to enhance code quality and delivery speed.
• Understand the system deeply to ship changes independently and resolve issues efficiently.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating fullstack applications.
• Proficiency in Go, Ruby, and Node.
• Experience with data platforms like ClickHouse, including data modeling and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AI-powered product features.
• Experience with multi-tenant applications in SaaS and self-managed environments.
• Strong written communication skills and ability to manage complex initiatives.
• Experience with third-party or API integrations.
