Java Software Engineer @Vonage

Overview

Vonage is looking for a Java Software Engineer to join its growing Engineering team. The role focuses on advancing cloud communications solutions for a diverse client base through innovative API technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Create scalable microservices to support Vonage’s growth.
• Propose solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective.
• Estimate efforts for developing and delivering new product features.
• Implement effective testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Measure, evaluate, and improve service quality.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality.
• Document components, design patterns, and systems for knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Excellent software engineering skills for backend services.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Strong focus on testing and understanding of object-oriented design.
• Experience with multi-threaded, 3-tier architectures and web services.
• Knowledge of Continuous Deployment tools and methodologies.
• Experience working with public cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Practical experience with Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
