Overview
The Information Management Officer, part of the Humanitarian Innovation Team, will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of information management (IM) system development, including needs assessment, solution design, implementation, and user training.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with partners to understand requirements and existing systems
- Conduct assessments to identify gaps and improvement opportunities
- Design tailored data solutions using tools such as KoboToolbox, Power BI, and GIS platforms
- Organize and manage datasets ensuring security and accessibility
- Create dashboards, maps, infographics, and other visual tools
- Implement data quality and validation protocols
- Develop training materials and deliver workshops for diverse audiences
- Provide ongoing technical assistance and strategic guidance
- Contribute to IM and MEAL strategy development
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in information management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Management, Computer Science, GIS, Disaster Management, or related field
- Minimum 2 years experience in information management, ideally in multicultural or humanitarian settings
- Proficiency in mobile data collection tools (KoboToolbox, ODK, XLS Form)
- Advanced skills in Excel and statistical analysis tools
- Knowledge of data visualization platforms (Power BI, Tableau, GIS tools)
- Fluent in English; French proficiency highly recommended
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts
