    Overview

    The Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (MPIDR) is seeking a motivated Doctoral Student for the Lab of Migration and Mobility within the Department of Digital and Computational Demography. This position focuses on research into the movement and mobility patterns of scientists and skilled populations using large-scale bibliometric data.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Contribute to research on scientific mobility and the Scholarly Migration Database.
    • Design and analyze a survey on researchers' migration decisions.
    • Investigate gender, disciplinary, and geographical differences in global scientific mobility.

    Requirements

    • Strong quantitative and programming skills.
    • Academic interests in demography, migration studies, computational social science, or science of science.
    • Master's degree or equivalent at the start of the program.
    • Ability to reside in Rostock and enroll in the doctoral program at the University of Rostock.
