    About the Role

    The Forest and Climate Leaders’ Partnerships (FCLP) seeks a Policy Lead to coordinate and enhance collective efforts on Forest Carbon Markets.

    Under the supervision of the Deputy Director – Policy, the successful candidate will work across a global membership, supporting policy development, stakeholder engagement, and representing FCLP at major international climate events.

    This is a remote, mid-level position offering an opportunity to contribute to impactful climate and forest conservation initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic and Policy Leadership

    • Provide expert guidance on Forest Carbon Markets to FCLP members
    • Develop technical documents, policy briefings, and analysis to support informed decision-making
    • Support annual workplan development ensuring alignment with FCLP priorities

    Coordination and Delivery

    • Facilitate member engagement and collaboration across workstreams
    • Ensure effective delivery of collective priorities and manage meeting schedules
    • Coordinate with other FCLP functions to support overarching strategies

    Partnerships and Inclusive Engagement

    • Lead the coordination of the J-REDD+ Coalition, fostering collaboration among members and partners
    • Build and maintain partnerships to advance shared climate and forest goals
    • Promote equitable participation within the FCLP membership

    Events and Representation

    • Coordinate FCLP participation in key global events such as UNFCCC COPs and regional platforms
    • Support the development of joint messaging and communication materials

    Candidate Profile

    Education

    • Required: Advanced university degree in environment, policy, law, international relations, or related fields with at least five years of relevant experience
    • Desired: First-level degree with seven years of relevant experience

    Experience

    • Minimum of five years working on forests, land-use, climate change, REDD+, or related legal and policy issues in tropical forest countries
    • Experience in forest carbon markets, jurisdictional REDD+, and results-based finance
    • Proven stakeholder engagement skills, including working with government officials, NGOs, and international organizations
    • Experience delivering at UNFCCC COPs or similar international climate events

    Skills & Competencies

    • Expertise in environmental policy, legal frameworks, and carbon markets
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to draft high-level policy documents
    • Diplomatic and stakeholder engagement abilities
    • Fluency in English and Spanish; French is desirable
