    Overview

    GIZ is seeking a Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to support the ECOWAS Fund for Regional Stabilization and Development (FRSD) programme in Nigeria.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support research, monitoring, and knowledge management activities for programme M&E systems.
    • Coordinate with colleagues and partners to compile and analyze programme data.
    • Assist with planning and documenting meetings, workshops, and seminars.
    • Support short-term experts assigned to the project.
    • Assist in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research activities.
    • Develop survey tools, conduct field trials, and train field staff.
    • Collect and analyze data, contributing expertise in project data evaluation.
    • Prepare reports and datasets, maintain project documentation and knowledge management systems.
    • Update project information systems and maintain documentation/filing structures.
    • Develop terms of reference for M&E assignments.
    • Support planning, logistics, and organization of technical workshops.
    • Moderate team meetings and support the implementation of project activities.
    • Familiarize themselves with M&E requirements, project planning, and reporting systems.
    • Collaborate with relevant experts and team members.
    • Undertake additional tasks assigned by management.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field.
    • Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, or related roles.
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
    • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
    • Knowledge of geographic information systems is an advantage.
    • Proficiency in French is an advantage.
    • Willingness to learn and upgrade skills.

    Benefits

    Salary according to GIZ Salary Scale – Band 3.
