Overview

GIZ is seeking a Junior Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist to support the ECOWAS Fund for Regional Stabilization and Development (FRSD) programme in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

Support research, monitoring, and knowledge management activities for programme M&E systems.
Coordinate with colleagues and partners to compile and analyze programme data.
Assist with planning and documenting meetings, workshops, and seminars.
Support short-term experts assigned to the project.
Assist in designing and implementing qualitative and quantitative research activities.
Develop survey tools, conduct field trials, and train field staff.
Collect and analyze data, contributing expertise in project data evaluation.
Prepare reports and datasets, maintain project documentation and knowledge management systems.
Update project information systems and maintain documentation/filing structures.
Develop terms of reference for M&E assignments.
Support planning, logistics, and organization of technical workshops.
Moderate team meetings and support the implementation of project activities.
Familiarize themselves with M&E requirements, project planning, and reporting systems.
Collaborate with relevant experts and team members.
Undertake additional tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Relations, or a related field.
Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, or related roles.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
Knowledge of geographic information systems is an advantage.
Proficiency in French is an advantage.
Willingness to learn and upgrade skills.

Benefits

Salary according to GIZ Salary Scale – Band 3.
