Overview

The role involves an Engineering Lead position on the growing Gurugram Product & Technology team at MongoDB. The Engineering Lead will provide technical direction, direct architecture, and implement core components of a new platform aimed at facilitating AI application development for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Drive the architectural vision for the platform, ensuring it operates optimally across public cloud, private cloud, and on-premise environments.
• Collaborate with product managers, program managers, design & analytics teams to define, prioritize, and deliver new features.
• Plan and execute major features while raising delivery risks.
• Own the systems' monitoring, operations, and maintenance your team develops.
• Remove technical obstacles for the team, coordinate dependencies, and prioritize the team's overall well-being.
• Contribute to organizational growth planning, including engineering resource allocation and team hiring.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building distributed systems and/or foundational cloud services at scale, with proficiency in languages like Python, Golang, Java, or Rust.
• 2+ years managing a team of 3+ engineers with a focus on technical leadership.
• Proven track record in hiring and mentoring high-performing software engineering teams, along with experience working with remote teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a desire to collaborate and lead projects.
• Strong foundation in building core components for high-scale computing or distributed systems.
• Experience in launching and maintaining new features in production.
• Bonus points for experience with containerization and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) and AI frameworks.
• Eager to learn with a strong technical background.
