Where You Fit

The Manager, Funder Experience plays a central role in shaping how Co-Impact engages with its philanthropic partners across every stage of the funder journey. This role is responsible for designing and managing a thoughtful, coordinated, and high-quality engagement experience that strengthens relationships with current and prospective funders, reflects Co-Impact’s values, and advances organizational priorities.

Working closely with colleagues across Philanthropy & Communications, Programs, and Executive Office, and reporting to the Vice President, Philanthropy & Communications, the Manager will lead the planning and execution of funder communications, events, program visits, and engagement strategies. The role requires a highly organized project manager, an exceptional communicator, and a collaborative relationship builder who can manage multiple priorities while ensuring every interaction with funders is intentional, seamless, and impactful.

This position does not manage a fundraising portfolio. Instead, it serves as the strategic coordinator and project lead for Co-Impact’s funder engagement activities, enabling colleagues across the organization to cultivate strong, enduring partnerships.

The Role

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Funder Engagement Strategy (30%)

• Develop and manage Co-Impact’s annual funder engagement strategy and integrated calendar, aligning engagement opportunities with organizational priorities and milestones.
• Partner with the VP, Philanthropy & Communications and colleagues across the team to identify meaningful engagement opportunities throughout the year.
• Coordinate customized stewardship and engagement plans for priority funders, ensuring consistent, high-quality experiences across touchpoints.
• Anticipate upcoming engagement opportunities and proactively coordinate planning across teams.

Funder Communications (25%)

• Lead the planning, coordination, and production of regular funder communications, including Co-Impact’s monthly funder newsletter.
• Coordinate the development of funder updates, impact stories, invitations, executive correspondence, briefing materials, and other engagement collateral.
• Partner with Communications and Program teams to ensure messaging is accurate, compelling, and aligned across all funder-facing communications.
• Maintain editorial calendars and oversee production timelines to ensure timely delivery of communications.

Events, Convenings & Program Visits (25%)

• Lead the planning and execution of virtual and in-person funder events, roundtables, learning sessions, and convenings.
• Coordinate agendas, speakers, logistics, briefing materials, participant communications, and post-event follow-up.
• Plan and manage funder program visits in close partnership with regional and program colleagues, developing thoughtful itineraries and experiences that showcase Co-Impact’s work and partnerships.
• Develop project plans for each engagement, ensuring clear ownership, timelines, and deliverables.
• Gather participant feedback and continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of funder engagement experiences.

Cross-functional Project Management (15%)

• Serve as the central coordinator for cross-functional funder engagement initiatives, working across Philanthropy & Communications, Strategic Partnerships, Programs, Operations, and the Executive Office.
• Develop and manage workplans, timelines, and stakeholder communications to ensure successful execution of engagement activities.
• Prepare executive briefing materials and meeting packets to support leadership engagement with funders.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement (5%)

• Track participation, engagement metrics, and key milestones across funder engagement activities.
• Maintain engagement calendars, dashboards, and planning tools.
• Analyse feedback and engagement data to identify trends and recommend improvements to engagement strategies, communications, and processes.
• Contribute to the development of systems and practices that strengthen Co-Impact’s approach to funder stewardship and engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in philanthropy, strategic partnerships, donor engagement, communications, project management, or a related field, alongside a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize structured project management systems and procedures to deliver cross-functional projects. 
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting executive-level communications and producing high-quality external materials. English proficiency a must.
• Experience planning and managing high-profile events, convenings, and stakeholder engagements.
• Proven track record of effectively gathering insights from relevant experts to make clear operational recommendations. 
• Strong organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to build trusted relationships and work effectively across diverse, globally distributed teams.
• Experience working with CRM systems and project management tools; familiarity with Salesforce is an asset.
• Commitment to Co-Impact’s mission, values, and approach to advancing systems change through collaborative philanthropy. 
• Flexibility across time zones to accommodate participation across global funders and ability to travel, particularly as needed to attend and support events.

After the first year, success in this role will include:

• Consistently high-quality communications that strengthen funder understanding of and engagement with Co-Impact’s work.
• Seamless execution of funder convenings, events, and program visits that reflect Co-Impact’s commitment to partnership and learning.
• Strong cross-functional coordination that enables colleagues and leadership to engage funders effectively.
• Improved systems, processes, and metrics that enhance the overall funder experience and support continuous improvement.

The role is remote and flexible for candidates who are authorized to live and work in Kenya, Mexico, the United Kingdom or the United States (East Coast). As we work across multiple regions, candidates should be comfortable collaborating across time zones, including occasional early‑morning or late‑afternoon meetings. The annual gross salary is USD 112,000, (where applicable, it may be paid in local currency equivalent) plus a generous benefits package.
