Overview

The Manager II, Engineering for the Connections team at Pinterest will lead engineers working on product areas that enhance user engagement. This role focuses on collaboration, strategic execution, and team leadership within a people-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a cross-functional engineering team focused on user-facing product areas.
• Set clear goals and drive execution aligned with product and business priorities.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Research, and Data Science teams to shape strategy and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Create a strong team environment with clear expectations and psychological safety.
• Coach and develop engineers to enhance their scope and career progression.
• Support technical and architectural decision-making for building reliable systems.
• Utilize data and user insights to guide product and engineering decisions.
• Incorporate AI to enhance analysis and ensure quality and correctness.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in management roles.
• Experience in leading engineering teams on consumer-facing products.
• Strong people leadership skills in coaching, feedback, and team development.
• Ability to translate strategic goals into clear execution plans.
• Solid technical foundation for engaging in design reviews and technical decisions.
• Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and align stakeholders.
• Expertise in using data for decision-making and product improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Benefits

Base salary range for this position is $208,454 — $364,795 USD, and the position is eligible for equity. Details on benefits can be found on the company's culture page.

Location

This is a remote role, but candidates should preferably be located in the San Francisco Bay Area or PST timezone, with occasional in-office collaboration required 1-2 times every 6 months.
