Overview
The National Human Resources Assistant position is at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), focused on coordinating the recruitment and management of national and international personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the overall hiring plan for national and international affiliate workforce.
- Develop and review Terms of Reference for affiliate workforce ensuring compliance with standards.
- Manage the publication of candidate calls for vacancies.
- Organize and facilitate the selection process, including interviews and reports.
- Manage contracts for the affiliate workforce in the Global Resource Management System (GRMS).
- Supervise contract validity and coordinate renewals or terminations.
- Provide administrative support, including payment processing for consultants.
- Promote a respectful and harmonious work environment aligned with organizational values.
- Facilitate knowledge exchange and support performance evaluation processes.
- Handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Perform other relevant tasks as required.
Requirements
- University Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related fields.
- 2 years of relevant experience in Human Resources Management.
- Working knowledge of English (written and spoken).
- National of Nigeria.
- FAO Core Competencies: Results Focus, Teamwork, Communication, Building Effective Relationships, Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement.
- Work experience in diverse locations or areas of work.
- Knowledge of national labor laws relevant to UN programs.
- Experience working with people from different cultural backgrounds.
