Position Summary

The Nutrition Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning Officer is responsible for coordinating data collection analysis and reporting to track project performance. The role supports impact measurement strengthens data management systems and ensures proper evaluation of program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Program and Project Design

The officer supports multi sectoral needs assessments and project specific data collection activities. The role includes training program staff on monitoring systems performance indicators and data quality assurance. The position also contributes to project reviews including log frames and learning agendas while ensuring standardized data collection tools are used.

Monitoring Evaluation and Learning

The officer conducts routine monitoring visits to project sites including learning centers. Responsibilities include data verification analysis and reporting in line with data quality standards. The role involves conducting post distribution monitoring baseline and endline assessments and client exit interviews. The officer ensures data validation using approved applications and conducts regular data quality audits. The position also tracks project indicators and presents findings for program improvement.

Information Management and Reporting

The role supports the establishment and maintenance of project information management systems. The officer ensures accurate and timely reporting aligned with project indicators and contributes to monthly and quarterly reports. The position also manages updates to the Indicator Performance Tracking Table.

Client Responsive Mechanism

The officer ensures feedback channels are established for project participants and stakeholders. Responsibilities include facilitating feedback sessions supporting client satisfaction surveys and training staff on feedback mechanisms. The role also ensures feedback systems are active during project implementation.

Capacity Building and Supervision

The officer trains project staff partners and enumerators on data collection project indicators and reporting requirements. The role supports team capacity building to enhance program effectiveness.

Additional Duties

The officer performs other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor including training field data collectors.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a degree or diploma in Statistics Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. Applicants should have at least three years experience in monitoring and evaluation.

Technical Skills

Candidates must demonstrate strong data collection and analysis skills. Proficiency in tools such as Kobo Collect CommCare SurveyCTO or Mobenzi is required. Knowledge of statistical software including STATA SPSS Nvivo Microsoft Excel QGIS Power BI or Tableau is essential. Strong report writing communication and facilitation skills are also required. Candidates should have a good understanding of emergency response contexts and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams.

Working Relationships

The position reports to the MEAL Manager in Maiduguri and works closely with project team leads sector managers program officers and partners. The role also supervises field monitors and collaborates with research assistants.
