    Overview

    The Principal Product Manager for Telemetry Collection is responsible for driving strategy and execution within the Observability team at Elastic. The role focuses on edge telemetry collectors and remote management capabilities, with an emphasis on scalable collector management systems.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define product vision, go-to-market strategy, and execution roadmap for the Elastic Agent framework and telemetry collectors.
    • Define and track KPIs related to agent deployment success and pipeline efficiency.
    • Oversee packaging, testing, and distribution of the Elastic Agent and Elastic Distribution for OpenTelemetry Collector.
    • Drive remote management capabilities for Elastic Agent and Fleet Server.
    • Lead the vision and release strategy for cloud-native deployments, focusing on Kubernetes operators and Helm Charts.
    • Guide ongoing development of receivers and exporters across Elastic Agent and OpenTelemetry.
    • Manage Filebeat and oversee the Beats repository.
    • Lead product initiatives for Logstash to improve user experience.
    • Collaborate with engineering, UX, and product marketing for central management and collector experiences.
    • Act as a spokesperson for Elastic’s agent framework and collection capabilities.

    Requirements

    • Minimum five years in a Product Management role focused on enterprise infrastructure observability or telemetry collection.
    • Technical familiarity with collectors, log shippers, and agent ecosystems such as OpenTelemetry Collector and Elastic Agent.
    • Proven experience in defining requirements for remote agent management and distributed edge collection systems.
    • Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud-native orchestration.
    • Experience in IT Ops, DevOps, or as a customer-facing solution architect.
    • Excellent communication skills for translating complex architectures into business goals.
    • Familiarity with modern AI productivity tools and emerging AI technology stacks.
    • Strong knowledge of the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, Beats).
